My opinion on "View/Sub Botters"

Beanbag

I Love YTtalk
I'm sure this is a touchy subject for most new, get-rich-quick type of channels who are looking to become big and powerful on YouTube. Unlike some, I understand why this "Viewbot" era is starting to take a downfall, and sites like "youlikehits" and "subxcess" are booming.

View-Bots, well.. the free ones are generally using your own IP address and "Auto-Refreshing" the page on your own PC. This will give the illusion of "Views" on your video, but is really just like you refreshing the page a few times for an extra boost. In the end, they aren't monetized and are a waste of time. Sub-bots are also a big one, channels claiming to have "1k subs in a day" that have really just used a bot and made there channel look a tad more appealing. But in my opinion, nothing is more unappealing then a channel with heaps of subs but no views.
This is where sites like SubXcess and YouLikeHits have come into play, using Point Systems as a way of luring you into the tricks of "Growing your channel". By subscribing/liking the videos they link to you, you gain points that will get you subs/likes/comments or whatever.
In the end, you look back at it and what are you getting out of it? Inactive subscribers and a crazy, impossible amount of likes. What is the purpose of dedicating time and effort into your videos if you are making them for a "Imaginary Audience"..

This is something I will never, never understand with people like this? Does anyone else agree or is it just me?

Also, to check if users are doing this you can simply goto a video, and check the analytics under their video now, which is a nice thing youtube added :D

Good ol' YouTube is doing something productive for a change eh? haha

Yep, natural growth is the best method. I'd rather have a few subs who actually watch my videos as they come out, rather than 2000 clones who visit my channel once and then vanish into the internet, never to comment or like again :)

Well yeah :P
That and the "non-subscriber" channel preview video that plays instead of the featured video if you choose it to, pretty nice idea & feature.

A mate of mine used to use these sites to get more "youtube-money" with his network. They found out he was botting, removed his partnership and he was left in the wrong? There are no real benefits of doing it.. So why do it at all?

That is like buying a house, then having a party with some stuffed animals. You're doing all the hard work but no one is taking any notice of it.

I mean, these days they're kids that make scrips, known to the world of the interwebs as "script kiddies" (creative name right?) and they have view bots while their videos are monetized and earn money from it, also people that add like 1,000 embled videos to a webpage, refresh it etc. Confusing youtube that the page has an html source or something, not too sure how it works but they get away with it and get paid by google/youtube for it, quite disappointing for the legit community which was stated above, 99.9% of us here. :)
