Hello, I'm a Designer so I could give you some helpful tips on this:
Firstly, I like the simplicity and style of it, it's almost like something I used to have myself.
The colour scheme fits well, and you did an overall great job!
But, now for some criticism, as there's a lot of potential addons/touch ups you could do, depending on your level of skill.
First I would never use contour/emboss unless you really know how to create the illusion that it almost looks beveled without have big white lines curving, it just looks very out of place and amateur for this style.
For the text, there's no need to put an outer glow of a white/grey when the background is white/grey, it just looks odd, what I recommend you'd do is to make a shadow effect on the text; depending on how far off the background you want to make it look like, adjust the fill/opacity of the shadow to fit that.

I have made few changes to logo and banner. I hope im going to right way!
Also the banner (top one) is different looking on youtube. (check my channel and you understant what i mean)
And feel free to comment and say what it looks like on that youtube layout!
