My channel lost 50,000 views overnight

When this sort of thing happens, my first reaction is to check the SocialBlade stats for some other bigger channels. I've just done it and they're all showing negative views for Friday 12th February. Example: pewdiepie "lost" 3.5 million views - http://socialblade.com/youtube/user/pewdiepie

Hah ha, I have a confession. - Yours was another channel's stats that I checked as part of my sample of big YouTubers. It made me feel less sad about my "loss" of 139,000

I seem to remember this same thing happening about 6 months ago and all the views were added back on about 48 hours later.

Yep same here, I went down almost 150,000 views in a night....its rather upsetting to me as I was getting so close to my goal of 3,000,000 channel views and now i've been set back to needing 450,000 before I can get there.

Lost 3 million, dammit i was about to hit 100 million total too. Oh well, another month wait then.

YouTube does this kind of stuff every once in a while, they will search and remove bot views or duplicates. I am not saying you bloated your channel but someone else might of. Stay calm. They did this with dead accounts a while ago, I think pewds lost like 500k or something (just a rumor).

I've got an hour to go until midnight, and most of the day showed "--" for my views on socialblade, but now it shows +39,217 for today. I wonder if I'll lose views at midnight or some day in the near future instead.

It's a relief isn't it? I was seriously stressed, as I've made sure since I started my channel only to use Adsense for promotions, no dodgy bot merchants, so couldn't understand why my views suddenly dropped.
