I've Got It
As the saying goes, too much of anything is bad, but there is a difference in some aspects. For instance, what is worse- too much crack cocaine, or too much helping the homeless, haha.
I recently stopped using Facebook and focused even more time on youtube. You see, I kind of get depressed when I go on facebook. Everyone's lives are portrayed as being perfect. You'd obviously never see pictures of them crying as they break up with their boyfriend, but pictures of partying, guys with good looking girls, what vacation they're going on, so on and so forth.
I've never been the kind that's invited to parties. See, it's weird. I am actually MUCH more social than probably 75% of the people I've talked to in the crowds I am referring to. And while their interests (Partying, ....uh.... "Hanging out with friends......, tanning?) are shown via facebook, I wanted to show mine off and really let the world see.
I'd like to say all of us have talents, but in the sense that all of us have talents that we really perfect, are passionate about, and share, that's not true. Fortunately, that will NOT come off as an insult on here, because you guys are the people I like to surround myself with, people who like to be productive.
As I was saying, my hobbies are - Drumming, editing, acting, filming, and comedy. Now being the furthest thing from popular, with about 3 friends (That are my friends because I support them, and they support me), I decided to hit up youtube. It sickened me going on facebook, watching people have contests for likes, and who could get the most compliments on their "MODELING" pictures, that their mom took in their back yard. I just couldn't stand wasting time, and I repeat - it sickened me. Facebook is strange. You go on to brag about your life, but half of the people I see on there who do have tons and tons of friends/comments/people BEGGING to hang out with them.... have nothing going. Like, that's it. That's all they have going is "hanging out with friends." It's almost a** backwards.... how can you have an interesting facebook page, when your life itself, IS FACEBOOK!!??
Moving forward, and to the real point- I wanted to do a productive version of facebook. Something where I could share content that people would truly like to see. A fairly unbiased network that is not completely dominated by which girl is hotter. It's just been around 6 months that youtube has been serious biznezzzz for me (lol) and I must say, it's the healthiest addiction I think I've found. Not only could you potentially make money off of it (Not my goal at all, but if you are popular on youtube, you get the bonuses, which some cases may be even more than money, but a launch of your career.) but it also opens up new avenues, as I've stated before. It's NOT a false sense of accomplishment. Like on facebook, I know PLENTY of people who have zero hobbies, but feel like they are better than everyone else. WHY is this? You ask. It's because they have no need to go out and achieve anything, their fulfillment lies within the notification icon, showing how many people liked their picture that they took with a camera, therefore showing their approval.
Maybe this is just a long rant, but of all people to understand it, you guys would be the ones.
TL;DR - Facebook is time consuming and gives fulfillment, but is very biased and dependent on your social status. Youtube is time consuming, but it opens new avenues, could supply you with a job doing something you love, and is only biased towards hard work and talent.
---- It's just really nice to have something as addicting as Facebook, but with more productive possibilities than we could ever understand. From making an extra buck, to having a career launched.

i post post more picture statuses then any other status usually its when im traveling or on the go. I don't use hash tags on facebook '-_- "i dont no why people do but when ever some on posts the like this status i post saying dont like that s**t it will give you aids
or herpes. All i can say is facebook can be a great tool i love to see how friends are doing and sometime connect with them at a party or hangout there doing. And it's cool to see were other's are in the world! also good for updates about companies you like. Facebook is what ever you add to it. A girl with way to much time will post a billion like this statuses or a stoner will post 100 things on how smoking weeds killed no one and a guy might bost a trillon tbh. In the end delete the people that waste you time and ad new people you want to here about. i have many friends that have zero hobbies and then come to me when they need a project done because that's what i do for fun we all have something we do fun might be banging chicks or reading books.
