Music or Commentary?

CommMatt

Posting Mad!
(Note: I was going to post this in Reviews & Feedback, but felt it would fit more here. If I should've put it elsewhere, lemme know. :) )

Alright, well, if Audacity doesn't work out for me, I face a (Fairly) big choice: Music, or commentary?

Basically, if you were watching a playthrough of a game (To The Moon, to be exact) would you prefer to listen to commentary, or the game music?

Thanks! c:

I prefer commentary, especially if the commentator is interesting. But, if a game has a good and fitting soundtrack then that's okay too, I guess. I'm not sure if soundtracks are a copyright ban either, so you should look into that as well.

Freebird (developer and self-publisher of TTM) said he's cool with LPs... But no news on monetized LPs (so I haven't monetized xD)
Thing that's getting me so caught between is that if I take out commentary, there's no voice acting, so I'll having to use my mouse as a "follow along" thing.
But if I take out audio, you couldn't hear the amazing soundtrack... At least I think it's amazing.^.^

What is wrong with your Audacity? I know when I first started using it, it didn't record at a high volume, but I figured out some effects that will fix it. If you are trying to get Audacity to record your system sounds, I don't think it works. Camtasia will record your system audio, and I think Fraps will as well. I use Camtasia for my recordings, and it works awesome with Audacity for recording my commentary.

I'll just move this to the Script, Script Writing, Video Ideas & Planning Section for you :)
I don't watch much game play, but when I do, I personally enjoy commentary. I like hearing other people's opinions of the games.

Nothing's wrong, I haven't had a chance to record yet. I'm just preparing for the worst.
Plus, it's nice to know. :)

Thanks for moving it! :D

Thank you as well for the reply.
I don't watch many Let's Plays, but I prefer commentary. That assumes the person making the video has a good personality.
Thanks for the reply! :D
