Hi Everyone, (sorry in advance if this is in the wrong topic section, im new!)

I am looking to start actually videoing myself do song covers but i still want the good sound quality from my rode microphone that i use in garageband. Is there a smooth way i can record my voice and face at the same time? Sorry if this doesn't make sense!

Thanks!

Well to make the best use of what you have I strictly advise you to download extra tools from here http://www.antarestech.com/
they will help your vocals get the right punch!!

Maybe try filming and recording the audio/video separately and see how hard it is to line up? Worth a try at least once!

I had to try and match some audio to something I did. Worked out mostly okay considering it was my first time. As long as there's no delay in your hardware it should line up when you put them together in editing software! Just have to patient!

Perfect, thank you very much!

Yeah you should definitely try recording the audio and video seperately as this is how the music video production is done. Just take a look at other (famous) artists/cover artist on YouTube. You record your cover and then you film yourself singing it (while listening to it obviously) and you put it together in an editing software. Good luck with it! :)

Oh and by the way Rode microphones are awesome, I also use one to record my acoustic guitar with. :P

Massive help mate thank you!!!!

I highly suggest recording the video and audio separately, it shouldn't be too hard to sync up in any modern program.
Audacity & After Effects/Vegas work great but there are plenty of options out there!
