Monetization = Custom Thumbnails?

hey guys,

so i had custom thumbnails on my channel and then i disabled monetization and also removed pretty much all of the videos from the channel and i'm wondering. do i need to have monetization eneabled to have custom thumbnails or do i just need to upload more videos again?[DOUBLEPOST=1350729077,1350728401][/DOUBLEPOST]i figured out it was the monetization that was the problem, i re-enabled my adsense account and am just planning on not monetizing any videos with it :P
 
If I understand correctly it is not possible to make any money without both monetization enabled and AdSense. Is that correct? If you are not planning on doing both is there a point in either?

i don't care about making money at the moment, i enjoy making and releasing content and i enjoy people commenting on said content, and in order for more people to click my videos having custom thumbnails is an important thing, almost as important as a good title, i just enabled adsense so i would get my thumbnails back i have no plans to actually monetize any videos until it comes to a point where not monetizing my videos would actually be losing me a lot of money
 
meh googles taking a while to re-associate my adsense account but it should be all fine once they get it sorted :D
