Microphone Suggestions?

It depends on what type of an enviroment you will be recording in. If you are recording in a very quiet space with none or almost no noise at all, the you can use a cardioid condenser microphone like the Blue yeti, Blue snowball and the Audio Technica At2020. However, If you are in a recording space that is noisy, loud or you just want no backround noise such as fans, the clicking of the mouse and keys, you'll need a cardioid dynamic microphone such as the Audio Technica Atr2100, the Audio Technica At2005 or the Samson Q1U. The difference between a cardioid condenser microphone and a cardioid dynamic microphone is how much extra backround noise it will pick up. The condenser microphones are more sensitive and will therefore pick up more backround noise. Dynamic microphones are less sensitive so they'll pick up less backround noise. You can still get a condenser microphone even if you are recording in a not so quiet space, but you'll need to spend extra time editing the audio to reduce backround noise. Any of these microphones go for anywhere in between $50-100. I hope this helps!

I have the at2020 xlr with a mixer, and I have no background noise. If you have your settings done correctly then you can eliminate the noise.

I'm looking to start doing gaming videos and want to have some good audio quality for the commentaries. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality mic at a decent price? Affordable for a college student, so <$100? Let me know what you got or think!
