MCNs & Partnerships

I have been contacted by at least 20 different Multi Channel Networks on YouTube, begging for me to be partners with them, they always claim to increase your revenue, share you videos, help promote you and sometimes give you free music. Some small MCNs may stay true to their claims, but the big giant networks are just out for your money. Oh and you also must sign a contract and are locked in for x amount of time

Basically when you join a MCN they take over your adsense account, and they pay you. Usually you get paid between 50% and 75% of what your channel actually earns and the MCN takes the rest as a "cut" for sharing your videos. So basically you are paying this MCN a percentage of your earnings to promote you channel, and in alot of cases they do jack s**t.

I have a few YouTuber friends that have about the same size channel as mine, who have been part of MCNs. They both said they regret doing it. They either got little or no promotion from their MCN, got no other benefits, were hassled about upload frequency and were basically forced to make videos which made their quality go down. They were both locked in for 2 years and legally could not leave until the contract is over.

So my advise to you is do not join a MCN. Some people may have had success with them, but the majority get screwed over.

In my opinion, stay independent and get your full earnings which you deserve, and do the promotion yourself. Don't get screwed over and locked into one of these scams. Once you get a decent following maybe 8000 subs or more, you will get bombarded with emails from MCNs asking to join. You will learn by just how many emails you'll get, and their vagueness i genericness in their emails that they don't care about you, they only want your money.
