Managed vs Affiliate. Which is better?

I Love YTtalk
I have been curious about the whole managed vs affiliate partnerships. After reading around these forms I know the difference, but I am still confused, which one is better? There a lot good posts explaining them, but I can't figure which is better. Is one better then the other? What kind of partnership do most bigger channels (100k+ subs) have? What do smaller channels usually have?

I am not a partnered with a network, I am just curious.

I have chosen to not join any network. I have heard too many bad stories about the networks taking so much of the earnings, the channels earned a LOT less that before.

That is the case for smaller channels, but as you become a bigger channel like yours you get more options and more negotiting power.

Also Managed is better, Instant Monetization, Very low risk of Copyright issues and if you do run into them they're on the networks back.

Though it's usually reserved for larger channels who networks know won't upload copyrighted content without permission. Usually a small channel will be affiliate and bigger (Over 100k) will be Managed.

I don't have any problems with monetization of videos. They are monetized after the video has processed. One thing that IS attractive about networks is getting Content ID to prevent video theft. That's nearly impossible to get being just a YT Partner.

There's still no difference to being managed or affiliate at this time.
There is some Content ID differences :P Autiomatic content id, as far as I can see does not affect managed channels, managed channels only seem to be able to be claimed manually.
