Making a second channel. Good or bad idea?

Hi guys.

The channel I currently have is a gaming channel. Lately I have started wanting to do more vlog type things. Now I know there are some people who talk about different things while they have gameplay in the background, and there are just straight up vloggers. I am slightly more swayed towards the game type vlog at the moment because im not the most comfortable person infront of a camera.

I cant decide which to do, and wether to make a new channel for it. The major con of having both the vlog type videos and my current chilled out gameplays on the same channel is it may stop people subbing if they only like the gameplays or vice versa.

Either way I do want to do some type of vlog as I have a lot of personnal things to talk about as well as being very opinionated about a lot of things :)

Anyway, how have people dealt with having two channels? Good or bad idea? :)

I would suggest you keep it all on one channel. That way all the traffic you get will go to one channel. Dont worry about people subbing or unsubbing you will eventually get a consistent audience that likes both. If you do gameplay vlogging you can always create a section for it and have a playlist dedicated to it that way people can choose to watch either your gameplay or gamevlogs. Hope this helped you.
 
Well, it's still a gaming channel in whole. I would just stick to having one channel and doing gaming vlogs and let's plays on the same channel. Making another channel for your gamile vlogs is like saying "I'm starting a new let's play. I better make another channel for my new game." Some people will watch some of your gaming while dislike other games.

I think you should only make a new channel if you want to go completely out of bounds and create a normal vlogging series. Otherwise, keep all gaming on one channel. (:
