So I made myself a logo this evening, and well.. its the first one I've made where I wasn't completely disappointed in myself afterwards. (Made with Photoshop, completely from scratch)
I still need some thoughts from you guys though. Good things, bad things (with constructive criticism, not just bad because bad), other ideas, anything related really.

Its designed to not be "in your face", but instead be more calm and elegant/simple.

I'm planning on putting this in my next intro (and outro?), and likely other channel art as well.

Here's the image:

It's pretty nice for your first "real" logo. I like it.

However, the last thing that logo displays to me is calm and elegant. Though it is sorta "simple" in a way, when I see it, I hear "BOOM. IN YO FACE." But that's just my opinion.

Maybe you can try a less intimidating/more sleek/sexy font, and try to get a less "rough" feel to it. The texture is pretty bumpy, and the edges are a tad..."raised" which takes away from any simplicity it has. :3

I didn't use a font is kinda the thing. I just made letters. This due to the whole thing with copyrights. Thought just making letters would be a better solution than finding fonts I can use and like.

I also believe the enormous size of it gives the illusion of "IN YO FACE", while it should not where it will be inserted in projects. It's really not supposed to be that big

That's actually pretty good and it is good to make your own letters as its more creative. One thing you could improve on is add some effects such as strokes

Yeah, I really like it. It's nice and simple, not too complicated. Like that blue color as well. I dig. :up2:

I think removing the texture on it will improve a lot to be honest. The texture makes it look a bit messy.
I too, thought this before experimenting. However, as soon as it was removed (and before it was put on for that matter) it looked far too simple. As in something a kid would draw, which kinda put me off, and I preferred the added texture.

I can however experiment some more with having less opacity on the texture, and things like that. (Making it less noticeable)

Sometimes simplicity is key, so what if a kid can create it. If it looks neat and clean, why the hell not? I have this issues before with some things on my end where I was like "This looks a bit off" while there was nothing wrong with it and yes, maybe lowering the opacity will do the trick.

Thanks a lot for the great feedback btw ^_^ I'll experiment some more and improve it as soon as I get home.

EDIT:
Did some adjustments, and I agree, it does now look better. Made the texture depth much closer to zero, and slightly decreased the opacity of the white thing on the top left corner.

Here's the new one:
