Low Subscriber Blues

The title says it all. I've been making videos semi-consistently for a few years now. Some of my videos have cracked the 1,000 view mark (I've got one that might hit 3,000 by the end of the year). My videos receive mostly positive feedback, yet my subscriber count sits at 99 as of this moment. It didn't seem so bad until I noticed that quite a few people here (with much less views than myself) have quite a bit more subscribers than me- even the people that just started a month or so ago.

I'm perplexed! I'm sad (unrelated). And I think I'm getting sick (unrelated).

When I see these I high sub counts on other channels I conjure up stories of people that went on a sub4sub binge. Or they tried bots, but didn't like it so they stopped. These people often have a lot more subs than myself, but far less views- so something isn't right, right?!

My question is: what are you doing to get these people subbing? Are they even people?! Does it even matter? Does any of this even matter? I was half-hoping the world would end on the 21st so that I wouldn't need to ask these questions.

I'd like to hear your most sincere answers/apologies as soon as possible. I don't know how much longer I can go on without a nap.
 
look dude!! i have quite a lot more views than u and 200 and something subs so technically speaking ud prob have more subs if u had my views :) subs mean nothing to me tbh. my videos get views and thats all that matters. i dont really sub to anyone tho. hmm :)
 
Ho, calm down dude. You sound like you're going to commit suicide. Just chill. Some of these people of which you are talking about maybe promoted thereselves in a better way. If you keep on posting and getting those views, the subs will come. But it will take some time.

Subs aren't everything. BTW I got you 7 subs.
 
I see my comedic writing style seems to translate into the tone of suicidal maniac. I'm not angry, just perplexed. I promote the hell out of my videos BUT I don't usually bash the viewer over the head with sub begging either. So my views are decent but my sub count is not.

Subs mean little without views. This thread was made purely for my own insight.

Well I certainly appreciate it, Dane.

I'd still like to hear from others on their methods. I'd also like to know how many of your views come from your subs. Most of mine come from promoting my videos on message boards/facebook/reddit/etc.
