First of all they're not ok with self-promotement, it's not a site like Reddit for exploring content, it's just a lot of topics. Secondly it's almost only people who hate the world.

I'm glad you didn't, but let me share my best/worst 4chan story
It all started with me posting my video under the gaming section, I wrote "I'm so glad I'm almost at 100 likes 100 comments and 0 dislikes before 301 views dissapears", within 2 minutes I had 80 dislikes and 40 hater comments.
I took down the threat and plotted for revenge, this is where Gmapping comes into the picture, if you don't know Gmapping, basically you use a program called Gmap to make picture kind of like a puzzle, and you can only solve it using Gmap. So I found a picture of Emma Watson naked (totally hot but fake though) and I then photoshopped dravens face on her vagina. Then I Gmapped it so hard, that it would take at least an hour to figure it out.
Then I went over under the correct section and wrote "The first true nake photo of Emma Watson, it's hard though" and some people spent over an hour figuring it all out just to see it was fake and the vagina was Draven's face.
That was my perfect revenge, tune in on next episode for horror stories of Reddit.
if ya got walkthroughs/lets plays then gamesanyone is pretty good. can never spell it but yeoshe has a media section too. (site is a bit less about self promotion now though)
one thing i noticed though is i posted a few clips on these sites with embedded video players and the views dont really count towards the video. my mass effect 3 lets play had over 11k views on gameanyone but on yt i maybe have 4 -20 views on the clips

I'm partnered with Yeousch, they only take 10% of my NET revenue which is decent. Fullscreen are idiots however, taking like 40% gross.
