Here's my tip to you. Use good common tags. Put a annotation asking people to subscribe to you. Which this means that you care about your channel and you would post video n stuff. And then find a website then just post link of your video randomly. Hope helped

I know how you feel, but you will always have unactive subscribers, I have 75 subs yet can't get more than 10 on my most recent videos. Just keep making videos, and do a little advertising.

People are fickle, busy and not that dedicated to us smaller channels. Make sure you reply to all the comments you get, as that's the best way to strike up 'friendships' and loyal subs. It's true though that a lot of people sub to hundreds of channels, and if you don't happen to upload in that half an hour they're online, you'll get lost in their feed.
Keep it up, and we'll all get there in the end!
