I was the same way until I hit 100K subs. After that, I look more at what is my general growth rather than the specific number. I know that I recently passed 250K but I really won't pay attention again until 300K.

You are definitely not alone. I'm guilty of it too. Just keep in mind that the more time you are refreshing a page for no other reason than to see if a number has gone up or down... the less time you are doing things to HELP that number grow.

I actually try to hold off on checking my subscriber count until, like, the end of a day or something (sometimes even longer), just because I don't want to drive myself crazy by constantly refreshing the page.

I notice it go up or down, but I am not really that affected by it. I get more exited when I see that I have unread messages for some odd reason.
