Let's Keep It Fresh!

LyfeWithDragons

Mother of Dragons...Wait...
Hey there, guy or gal! Today I'm going to be introducing you to a wonderful and creative technique that'll keep your channel, and your videos "tssss" oh so hot! So, remember kids to "Keep! It! FRESH!" Bingo-bango! Let's get to it!

Have a few videos wasting away in your YouTube archive? Those older thumbnails looking a little too ghetto fab for your homies viewing pleasure?! Why not take the knowledge you have now and apply it to those gritty pictures?! Now, now, I know what you're thinkin'

"B-but if I just change my thumbnails, that's not going to do anything!!" and you'd be right. You also would be very rude because you didn't let me finish you whiny brat! Go sit down, and remember to "Keep! It! FRESH!" Bingo-bango-bongo! Let's continue!

While you're tinkerin' in the edit section of your video, alter up, switch up, and keep up with current tags that are related to your video.

"B-but if I just change up my tags, and picu--" SHUT UP! LET ME FINSIH!! GAWD!

Ahem..As I was saying, let's move on to your description. Utilize that lovely, extensive vocabulary that you picked up from all those lovely times you went to that building that teaches you things. What's it called again? Yeah, school, that's it!

"........." That's right, you better not say nothin'!

Haha! Well, now that you are decked out with a new thumbnail, description, and tags. All that's left is to change the title; if you're so inclined, then you're all done! Happy YouTubing lovelies, and aaaaaaas always remember to "Keep! It! FREEEESH!" Haha, you got it! :D

I actually did this a few weeks ago to a video that I knew had potential.. switched it to a more enticing thumbnail and have over 1,500 views on it now.. in a month. I'm gonna have to start doing it for some of my older videos too.. another idea is to make sure the description/tagging is updated as well. :) Thanks for ze reminder!

Yeah, I think I mentioned that about tags/description also! Though, it's always good to drill that point into people. I think those would be the best ones to update, honestly.

Can you show me an example of you using this technique and making your videos "tssss, so hot"?

Yup, just ask @LemonLorraine :D

I´m just curious about the success people are able to achieve with their knowledge. Specially when they talk like very experienced youtubers. It´s always nice to see someone achieve success and share with other people some of their "tricks". You talked about keeping channels and videos "hot", so i assumed you had "hot" videos. It´s actually just a curiosity. I honestly want to know how people are doing with their techniques.

Well, this channel is new, and I don't have a video even over just a few months old. I recently changed up all my stuff, and it's helping. The "Tsss, oh so hot" line was a joke, much like how I was typing as if I were pitching a product on TV. My knowledge of this comes from doing it every so often to test results (older channels n' whatnot). I'm not claiming that you change a video, and you'll end up getting one million views the next day. I'm simply suggesting that if you take videos that have potential that maybe you didn't see in the past, present them a bit better, things like what @LemonLorraine can happen.

I'm aware that this is a community that if you don't have the numbers to back up your knowledge, then why should anyone listen to you? When in reality, I know of quite a few people that work as YouTube consultants, and don't have channels themselves; yet they know a whole lot about it.

And a lot of those consultants don´t have anything to teach. The best they can do is to repeat information that is available to the public in general.

My main problem is that a lot of people here post tips in a way that makes it sound like they are very successful and really know what they´re talking about. And the biggest issue i have with it is that i know they only do it to attract attention to their channel. They´re not experienced, they´re not successful, they´re not knowledgeable and they are really not very concerned about the success of others.

It´s just very hard to give any kind of credibility to someone who doesn´t know how to become popular and is trying to teach other people how to achieve popularity. It just doesn´t make much sense.

If you´re just quoting a tip you heard from a successful youtuber, then you can just say "X-Youtuber said this". Otherwise it looks you´re trying to teach us something out of experience, and in that case, people are gonna make questions about your credibility.

If you really have a good tip to make a video hot, then make your videos hot. That´s the best way to teach us something: By example.

They do, actually. Even if the information is readily available for people, many of them don't know how to utilize their resources to find it. I'm sure there are some out there with ulterior motives, and want nothing more to help themselves while appearing to help others. Regardless if the information is available to the public, not many know how to find it, and these people aid them in doing so. Most of the time without mentioning their own channels, or charging any sort of fee; keeping it free to any who seek it.

I made no 'serious' claim that you'd become popular, or famous by using this method of revamping your older videos. All I was doing was just sharing the knowledge I gained myself through trial and error. I was teaching you something from experience, though it was from my own personal experience to try and aid others. Despite if some think that I'm doing it for the sole purpose of myself, I'm not; nor did I make any attempt to do so.

In the end, you're free to either take the advice or move on, it's no biggie. We're all just trying to help each other out.

I'm not even gonna lie that I had to read that like four times to figure out what in the hell you were talking about. Good advice though.

Yeah, it was more of an audioistic sort of script. Thanks for the compliment though!
