Not If There related to your video I.E not tags but titles are better,
I.E you have a video about cutting cucumbers
And You Video Title is Cutting Some Cucumbers
You Put in the Descpirtion Of Extra Titles Cutting Cucumbers Or Othere ways to say Cutting some Cucumbers
Do NOT in any way shape or form do what the guy said ^^

Putting tags in the description is against the YouTube ToS and they will terminate your channel if they find it in more than 3 videos (community guidelines strike per video)

I always do it like this, no single words or anything.

This is an example from my newest series.

ocarina of time race, lets race ocarina of time, zelda ocarina of time race, ocarina of time multiplayer, ocarina of time multiplayer race, lets race zelda ocarina of time, lets race the legend of zelda ocarina of time, the legend of zelda ocarina of time multiplayer, the legend of zelda ocarina of time race, zelda ocarina of time multiplayer, ocarina of time hd,ocarina of time 1080p,zelda ocarina of time 1080p,the legend of zelda ocarina of time 1080p

As you can see, they are all divided up in sentences, instead of singular words.

If you tag it like this: "lets play" "ocarina of time", I think you would lessen the chance for your video to show up.Iif you did this instead "lets play ocarina of time", by putting everything in the same sentence, I think it would improve your search rankings.

I may be wrong, but this is what I believe.

That again features word(s) more than twice, the YouTube system will flag it as spamming and it will go down in internal search ranking.
and puts you in with the chance of a community guidelines strike.

But all of them are different :O
I thought it was okay, as long as the sentences were different?

:unsure2: It's the same 4 or so words each time just if different contexts or order, that is spam.
But I can't think of anything else I can have in the tags that are related to the video.
And YouTube should have an automatic spam filter that told you that you couldn't do that.

Wow! I had no idea the spam rules where so thick an tanglly!!!
Think I'm lucky not to have been flagged then. I've doubled up some words in different contexts.....waaaaaaay to often. Lol
Think if better check through my tags then!!!

You had way too many tags there anyway, the recommended is 10-15 or some even say 8-12.

Why? :O
I thought, the more tags, the bigger the chance that someone will search for exactly what you have placed in the tags.

I guess I have to go back to what I did when I started then. Just write events that happens in the video in the tags instead. ._.
But that means no copy and pasting, gah.
