Karaoke Party violates copyrights?

Wow. So what videos did they post that caused Viacom to sue? I never heard of this.

From what was reported it was for 150,000 infringing videos not just a few videos.

The complaint stated that over 150,000 unauthorized clips of Viacom's (Viacom's) programming, such as SpongeBob SquarePants and The Daily Show, had been made available on YouTube, and that these clips had collectively been viewed more than 1.5 billion times.
It's been a long time since then, unless you were on YouTube back then you probably won't recall the lawsuits against them.

You can read about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viacom_International_Inc._v._YouTube,_Inc. or just Google it :)

But I believe e.g. FearCrads made a video on Karaokeparty, but didnt really seem to get into any trouble w/ copyrights -.- I dont know what to do tbh. I want to make one, but dont really dare to.

I've made two videos of karaoke party and have gotten ZERO strikes, the first video I got the matched 3rd party content which just means youtube will display an ad and the content owner gets a cut of the revenue from said ad on your video. 2nd video didn't even get a match, it surprised me lol.

As said before just be careful with it, you should be fine.

Oh yeah, It is okay to use the vocals on the song from karaoke party since it is not the original singer, for your video, I did, and I'm still in good standing :)
