Just received 3rd strike, channel about to be shut down... question

In your next life (assuming reincarnation), I recommend disputing the strikes and getting them resolved *before* violating further copyright.

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, as Frankie said, we can not help you with this. Rules are made to be followed, choosing not to follow them leads to consequence. Maybe if you start over again, you'll do things according to the rules. :)
 
Never upload any content that you do not own, own the rights to, or that does not fall under fair use. Make sure you understand the rules and/or laws regarding all three before uploading.

Yes, they did strike me as they thought I infringed their copyright. But after showing them that I didn't infringe, they agreed to retract through email contact with them.
 
Haven't heard of this happening ever. The only way to find out is to wait and see. Once your account is shutdown in 7 days. Assuming YouTube doesn't outright delete all data on that account, hopefully once the claims are received, they can reopen your account.

Anyhow, good luck with that.

Well, if they really wanted to retract, it would've been done by now, but even at that, if you don't dispute the 3rd strike, why did you go ahead and upload the video when you had 2 already?

Your best of contacting YouTube about this. Not contacting fellow YTtalk members. Most of us have probably no experience with copyright. You might just want to wait it out. See what happens then.
