Absolutely agree, with enough determination and effort you can do damn near anything. The moment you quit is the moment you were one step away! (That doesn't mean keep quitting and trying again :P)

Absolutely. It drives me crazy when the complaints do the rounds on youtube. At least once a year we get the "the community is dying" or "the quality on here is too good, it's supposed to be just for fun" and my favourite, "what if people don't like my stuff?! EXISTENTIAL CRISIS!"


Some of these things are valid concerns, but instead of whining about it, do something. The community sucks? Get more active, be the change. Not sure people like your stuff? Well, are you doing this to be liked, or because you have something to share?
 
Stupid youtube stupid design stupid taking my views stupid making my channel sux. O i have been only on youtube only 2 weeks but its youtube's fault my channel hasn't hit a million views. Let me make a thread about it :banghead: lol

Guys, I know many of you don't like the new channel layout. You miss the level of personalization, I get it. And you feel like YouTube isn't listening to users.

And you're right - they aren't listening to the folks that want to roll back the redesign. And there are parts I don't like. BUT! With web design and development, you do what you can to keep viewers happy, but mostly, you track the metrics. The trend now is to put as many images above-the-fold (the part of the page you see without scrolling) as possible. And it works! People click through images far more. And Google has all this clickthrough data, and they're watching it closely.

All the small channels that produce content that explodes *proves* the viability of supporting smaller channels. If Google wants to make YouTube a "big evil capitalist empire", they're still going to want to support smaller channels. YouTube isn't your enemy. At worst, they're indifferent to you - AND THEY HOST YOUR STUFF FOR FREE!

And I know, they're removing views, and you're frustrated.
And your network is screwing you over.
And Facebook sucks.
And Google Plus is worthless.
And your subs aren't commenting enough
And it's absurd that gaming companies can prevent you from using their content.
And you want to be able to use whatever music you want.
And it's the government's fault.
And it's the networks' fault.
And it's YouTube's fault.
And...hell, it can be my fault too - just for funsies.

It's just driving me a *teensie* bit f***ing insane to read this on Every. Single. Thread.

So please, PLEASE, shut the hell up, turn on your camera, and go make awesome stuff. I like your awesome stuff. More of that, please!

I feel the opposite on this one though. No one is complaining about the people who keep trying to tell us how great it is. I've read many, many post like that. About how "what's you favorite new feature?" I'm thinking "what new features?" "I hated it now its awesome and everyone else should to." I don't think people should shut the hell up, I think hey, I don't like it but they have every right to say what their saying. My point is sometimes we humans only want others to "shut up" when it's not our take on something they keep talking about. Oh btw, I still don't like it the new layout and I'm am still making stuff. One doesn't cancel out the other. :)
