Issue With Premiere Pro

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone else experiences this, but when I go into effect controls for a particular clip to adjust the volume, it doesn't seem to work, I mean yeah it will get quieter or louder depending on what i want but the sound panel seems to fluctuate if that makes sense? It constantly goes from loud to quiet or vice versa it always seems to start on the volume I want but doesn't stay at that volume, and I see the little volume control marker moving around quite crazily for the rest of the clip, does anyone else have this issue? if not how do I sort it?

I've never used that to adjust the volume, I've already right clicked on the clip, selected audio gain and set the gain to what I want. I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do though, if you're trying to increase or balance the volume of your voice then you might want to try that in audacity first.

I just use effect controls and then go onto level it's under bypass but it doesn't seem to stay the same volume for me. I don't really want to use audacity as I use the volume from my actual camera myself. Maybe I should try what you suggested. It's only for the music on my end title cards anyway normally it will suddenly go really loud then quiet

It's because you are cutting your audio clip, and you have to select each clip in the comp and adjust it's volume accordingly. A great way to bypass this is when it's time to adjust your volume, highlight the audio clips, right click, nest them, and then adjust the one big clip you just made.

Oh okay thankyou i'll try that! :)

Yeah, when you make any cut to the audio, it treats it as a different clip, and therefore needs to be selected and have it's own audio adjusted while it's highlighted. Just remember to adjust the volume beforehand, prior to making any cuts.

Yeah I guess that does make sense! I tend to cut the video into little clips for my end card so that may be what its doing, ill give it a go with my next video and see if it still does it.

Did u disable the "clock" near the volume gain?
That controller is active by default. . Disabling It e.thing will assume a static value :]

If You have the possibility.. I suggest You the workflow Premiere-Audition :]
Audio in Premiere is not the export one.. And volumes and quality changes both...

In Audition You have an easy button that normalize e.thing at -0.1 w/out goin' in saturation ;)
It's a.thing interactive, if you modify on Au, changes are affected in Pr ^^ (You'll need the CC version)
