Is youtube becoming overcrowded?

There are so many youtubers now barely anyone gets noticed now. Small gaming channels are starting to flop because everything you think off for a video idea has already been done :(

Well there has ALWAYS been alot of channel and some of them are great and some of them are not. As long as I am enjoying myself and helping people it doesn't matter how BIG I become from youtube.

For others it depends on their personal goals really if you only want to become big then your doing it wrong there has to be a small passion for what your doing rather than praying that blind luck and a cute video will make you popular overnight.

But no I do not think youtube is overcrowded since it has always been a huge website even in its infancy.

Firstly, everyone has a different personality. If everyone had the same voice, and reactions, I would agree with you, but they don't. I bet if both me and you had a go at Slender, both our reactions would be completely different. We may both jump back, but I will most likely scream like a little girl and cry. xD

Also, not everyone YouTuber is going to continue on for the rest of their life. I know it will be a sad day when EatMyDiction packs up, but it will eventually happen. That will leave the space open for dedicate YouTubers with quality content.

Lastly, I have a series in mind, a chat show, which I don't believe has been done before. I am not going to spoil it, but if you think long and hard, there is always something new to do. :)

It happens when everyone can get on it. If you have an idea go for it and try to tweak it for the better if someone else has done it before you.

Edit: Remember. If someones already done it doesnt mean it's good.

Well at around 2009 most people posted random stuff and others posted professional videos those people who posted good stuff are now the big youtubers. But now I'd say 70% of channels post professional stuff so there's too much choice so everyone just watches the big guys :(

Quick tip :p theres always going to be something new that will get popular, just gotta be an early bird ahaha xD

Yeah, some youtubers may just get bored or boring so they'd give up

I've been debating this with my YT friends for a while, and recently we all came to a conclusion.
There is a high volume of channels, but there are a hell of a lot of channels that aren't quality or entertaining or frequent. People are looking for the person with it all, not just one or two. Yes, some weigh in stronger than others, but having all three are very beneficial to a channel, and they usually become popular.

Well the problem is people are only thinking of ideas that have already been thought up, you say that every idea that can be thought of has already been done. Next week someone will probably do something that hasn't been done before, and the week after that, and the week after that. I think the problem is more that people are consuming so much on youtube that they are forgetting how to think of their own ideas and are just being coheres-ed in a way to follow the mainstream.

Thinking up truly original content is one of the hardest things to do but it does happen

Well, I think originality is key. Maybe while doing Let's Plays, you put trivia questions or ghosts or easter eggs in your video and see with subscriber gets it first.

Idk, I don't do gaming, but things like that would get me too watch more.
