Is uploading a video every single week is really important and necessary for a new channel??

I Love YTtalk
I have created a new channel and have already made some videos for it and made my channel art for it as some of you might of already seen it about 2 months ago, I am going to start uploading videos soon(Not sure how soon) on my new channel depending if I decide to upload every single week or every 2 weeks..

I am thinking if I upload every single week after a while I will feel under pressure to come up with a video idea every week and making sure the video is just right and checking if there is faults or something is not right in the video like I have to redo/reshoot that part again in the video.

But if I upload every 2 weeks that leaves me soo much more time to think of a video idea and filming and editing the video and making sure that the video is right before uploading and more importantly I won't feel the pressure of coming up with a new video idea every single week.

But I heard from lots of people from here and on YouTube that uploading a video every single week is really IMPORTANT and NECESSARY for a new channel especially to grow and it has been PROVEN a MILLION TIMES before just look at every big YouTuber/channel out there and by uploading a video every single week you will grow(getting people watching your videos) in a faster rate then uploading a video every 2 weeks.

I am definitely serious about YouTube and want to grow(get lots of people fast as possible watching my videos), So i am wondering Is uploading a video every single week is really important and necessary for a new channel?? Should I upload a video every single week or every 2 weeks??

I think how often you upload is a very personal choice: it depends on your rythm and with how much work you feel comfortable. However, once you find your schedule, STICK TO IT! That's the key :)

i try for 3 a week. i think thats the right balance. i do games so its a bit rinse repeat. if you have a channel where you can vary videos each day then go for it or if you are a single video channel where you do a sort of vlog then 1/2 a week would be ok i think

I think that as long as you don't take so long between updates that you're forgotten about, what's most important is consistency. If your audience knows you're posting every other week, they'll still tune in. Being really active on your social media to help people remember you're still around, and replying to comments on your videos can help your audience stick with you. Updating every week works out really well for audience engagement, but if such a schedule causes a drop in quality or causes stress, there's no need to force it.

I didn't update regularly at all in the beginning and still grew. Maybe not as fast as I could have, but it was definitely the right decision at the time as I was still figuring things out and filming/editing took much longer back then. So it's important to be mindful of your wellbeing and the limitations that you have.

Consistency is important, yes. But it applies to other factors outside of YouTube.
If you're more comfortable uploading once every fortnight, that's absolutely fine. There are huge YouTubers with dedicated followings who upload far less frequently than that. It's all about what makes you comfortable and what you can realistically maintain - otherwise it just becomes too stressful and you'll stop enjoying it altogether.

But being consistent on social media is just as important. It lets people know you're still around and that you're actively working on new stuff, so there can be new hype towards your content as you go on. That way, you can focus a little more on working on new videos while your fans will know there's more videos to look forward to!
