Is Sub4Sub against the rules?

It should definitely be. That is not legit subs. You want to build a viewer base. The number of subs don't matter if the number of views aren't matching it.
 
It is not but it is bad for your reputation. And the ratio of views:subs will be inconsistent and will lead you to haters.
 
No, but it's useless. All it does is make the subscriber count rise, doesn't have any benefit.
 
Yeah i think it is but either way it still stupid cuz the subs aren't real so they don't watch your videos they just subbed and never watch any of your vids :/
 
Sub4Sub will only help those who are undecided subscribe to you, but those are very few people. If someone says, "I don't subscribe to anyone under 100 subs," then I guess sub4sub could help, but the benefit is so low that it probably isn't worth it.
 
The concept behind "sub4sub" is stupid. Any dedicated Youtuber knows the frustration of having inactive subscribers (for whatever reason) and that's all sub4sub is likely to lead to. That said, there is nothing wrong with subscribing to your friends channel. Really it depends on your intentions. People I subscribe to, I intend to watch.
