is SUB for SUB Really Worth it?

I've Got It
Sub for sub is actually one of the worst mistakes any new YouTuber can make.
I have seen a lot of channels with nearly 500 subs, But unfortunately they only get 1-10 views on every video with absolutely no comments or likes! Thats because their so called "subscribers" didn't subscribe for their videos. They only subscribed so they could get a number and thats all sub for sub does! it gets you a number! Not real views and Not real love for your videos!
So what do you think? Do you think sub for sub actually helps and have you done it before?

Nope, sub4sub is not worth it in anyway. Sure, you get your subscriber count higher but it doesn't do much considering most people don't care about your content in the first place. Even if they see it in their feed, they most likely won't click on it because they don't even really know who you are haha.
 
Heck no you silly sally! It's just a numbers game. Fake numbers don't help anyone.

I had a guy the other day. Hi can you make me a free banner? I'll give you a shoutout to my 1000 subscribers for you. Looked at his videos. Maybe 5 comments on the whole entire channel, no likes on any videos. And the videos all had less than 10 views. Just makes you look bad.

Yeah I agree :) As @PressRecord said, fake numbers doesn't help.
I guess sub4sub is all about getting a high enough sub count for the channel to get noticed on its own. But you ultimately want to connect with people, not beat the system. And even if the sub count is high enough to spark a few peoples interest, it won't result in a larger fanbase I would think (in general ofc).

So I guess I can understand why someone would try it as a marketing strategy, but I don't believe in it.
