Is making a www Website worth it?

So Ive been thinking if making a website for your channel is actually worth it. I mean it will make more traffic and so on, but is it worth the effort.

Ive been thinking about it because I'm a webpage designer in my real life, and I could use some of my skills to make one.

PS: If anyone wants a page you can write to me anytime :D But first let me see if it's worth it :)
 
Honestly, I'm against the idea. Especially since your channel is so small. Your website would be more of a burden than any help to you. Websites are more for bigger youtubers that have an audience that they want to keep up to date with. But with the presence of social media, it just makes it more obsolete. Stick to current social media to gain traffic to your channel.
 
If you can make one for free and have ideas for regular content for it then I dont see why not. As long as you can keep up with both your channel and site they can both work well together. If its just a place to post your videos though I wouldnt bother.
 
As always, thanks Michael :D I need to think about a bit more. I mean I have to come up with a good design in order for this to work properly :D Because nobody likes bad content :3
 
You have to think of the use of this website for youe viewers. Would there be more content that they won't see anywhere else? Any bonus features? Any game links, your blog etc.? Because if it is only your site where you post your videos and not any other content, then why should they go there?

Think of that :P Of course, you have to know that it literally doubles the work because you have to put all the bonus stuff there.. I don't know if it's worth yet...
 
I'm a website designer and developer myself, I've been doing it for over 7 years.

The problem with making a website for your channel is that, either way, you're still not getting anymore traffic. If you could get traffic to the website easier than you're getting traffic to your YouTube videos, then it *might* be worth it for a couple of extra views. But unless you're getting a lot of UV's everyday to your website, I doubt you'll see a conversion.

Then you're just left with a website that you put time into designing and developing and then of course the domain and server.

What I used to do is; I used my personal website, my portfolio if you will, and I had a section dedicated to YouTube. Not much happened from in the end when I redesigned my site, I removed it completely and just focused on my website being professional and advertising my skills.
