Ok obviously i was a little dramatic with the title but.... I really would love some feed back and your thoughts on this. So the way I see it many channels now are affiliated with or are completely gaming related. I've also met a few people who just make gaming videos because its a popular niche and easy to gain subscribers from. As a travel channel I have pride in my channel and the small travel community that exits on youtube and feel like SO MANY people like an unfathomable amount of people all ages have started making gaming related youtube videos. DISCLAIMER I don't want to come off as someone who hates gaming or doesn't appreciate it. I used to be a huge gamer before going on a little mind state change and I watch many gaming channels Like Syndicate Captain Sparklez and I love my occasional Pewdiepie. It just a feel like its really overwhelming. I do respect the fact that so many people of so many ages are taking the opportunity to do something they love and upload videos to Youtube in the first place. SO please tell me your thoughts on this! Im really interested to know what other people think. Gaming channel Perspective and all ;)

It's not easy to gain subscribers from gaming; the fact that it's so popular makes it hard to succeed in the YouTube gaming world. Gaming has been the most popular genre for YouTubers to upload for a while now, but I don't think it is "taking over YouTube". Vlogs, sketches, animation, etc are all very popular. Infact, gaming might start to die off a bit in the foreseeable future as more and more people start to realize how hard it is to actually maintain, build, and grow a gaming channel.

It's because it's popular it's not easy to gain subs.
Growing a gaming channel is hard. Just as hard as growing a different type of channel.

It might seem that way if all you watch is gaming videos. But I hardly see any in my feed as I primarily watch dashcam & moto/carvlog channels. So no, I don't think gaming channels are taking over.

I disagree, youtube is still a very diverse community. You just have to look

I don't think that gaming is taking over YouTube at all. It's true that it's probably the most oversaturated genre but that's exactly what makes it hard to stand out and get noticed (atleast that's what I perceived from reading posts of some gamers on here).

It maybe really popular on youtube but lets face it vloggers and personalities are still on top because there the ones who get invited to all of the red carpet events and things like that.

it could look like that to some people but I watch a lot of vlogs so vlogging is very popular in my mind. Its a very large place :)
Gaming is very popular on here though, I feel in the minority sometimes with that but its okay because we're all friends here :D
