Instagram Shout-Out

I was talking to this guy on Instagram with 1.4 million followers. He said he would put up an advertisement for my channel for an hour for $90. He estimates I will get between 2,000-9,000 subscribers... Is this a good idea? I know the guy won't scam me, but for my YouTube career, is this smart? I need help. $90 for the amount of active subscribers I would get is considerably cheaper than adwords... I don't know what to do.

I'm not sure. I mean who is this guy? What does he have followers for/what does he do? Does he have engaged followers? How can he estimate?

Noooo don't do it.
For one, on instagram you CANT hyperlink.
Another reason is, users have to be interested in YOUR content, not his!

Also, on instagram if you ask a programmer, he can add Instagram followers easily using a script.
E.g on fiver you can purchase like 1000 followers for $5.

Have you spoken to anyone he's done this for before? I would be very cautious of anyone who promises to get you more subscribers like that - the $90 might be better spent on equipment or your own domain

If somebody knocked your door and made the same offer, would you accept it? Avoid these 'helpful' people who only want your cash - it's only you who loses out!

I highly recommend going against this, man. Not worth it. More than likely going to be a waste of your money. When things like this present themselves and seem "too good to be true" it's usually a scam.
Also, you cant link things on Instagram. So, 99.9% of people aren't going to take time out of their day to copy that link into the safari on their phones and whatnot. This generation relies on easy access, and if there's no easy link to click, its not gonna happen.
