I'm Scared.

I've Got It
Hey guys and gals,

Some girl from my college has found my youtube account. I don't know how, I have checked that my google+ profile is as distant from my channel as it can possibly be, but somehow she has found it.

The problem is, she is one of those people who will now try and do anything to make fun of it. She will probably show my most stupid/embarrassing moments to all my college friends and, to be honest, it scares me.

People at college still think youtube is a very alien thing, and I have actually privated all my videos just so she can't use them against me, or try and embarrass me etc!

What should I do? - I only have 17 subs so would it be worth just starting a new youtube channel with a Google+ profile with a random name, so the idiots at college wont find it again?

I don't do anything particularly ridiculous in my videos but I just don't want to be insulted or bullied for doing youtube.

So how should I go about it?

Im currently editing a video that makes it seem like Ive chosen to take these videos down as part of a 'thing' that im doing.. I have said that I will upload 50, and then private them to keep my channel fresh with new content and to give my subscribers a kind of exclusivity because the videos that they watched wont be vieed by any new subs, so its like a loyalty thing for my earliest subscribers.

Should I post that video and then just be cautious about my content from here-onwards?

I really don't know what to do

Sounds like this is being blown out of proportion I say ignore what she does and she will soon lose interest.

Why do Youtube if you are ashamed of it? After all, it is supposed to be a way to share, not hide your videos. If you don't want people seeing them, keep your videos private.

I know how you feel. Don't worry, man. It sucks that people have to do immature things like that, but if you're having fun doing YouTube, that's all that matters. Let them make fun. You have the potential to be seen by millions, while the others will probably go in their lives unknown.

Assuming you do like doing youtube, your choices are:

1) Shut down your youtube account forever to avoid nasty comments from your peers at college
2) Keep doing what you enjoy and become thick skinned

But the thing with doing #2 is you can't do it half way, cuz otherwise you'll end up going crazy over self-censoring all your new videos it won't be fun for you anymore.

Hey, look, being an "artist", a person who makes content, has to be able to uphold it and express it to the world. I do agree with you that the world can be an evil and stereotypical place, but in some aspects it might be a good thing. Just because that girl doesn't like your videos doesn't mean other people will. It doesn't matter your subscribers or your views, it's about your content and what you've created that shows what type of person you really are. I do believe youtube can act as a temporary diary twords who you are on the inside, since it would be very unlikely for people in your area to know you (unless you become famous.)

The main point is to stand by what you've made, because you can't call yourself an artist if you won't take credit for what you've made. Because that's what we all are, artists. I'm pretty sure alot of people have been in the same situation, I HAVE TOO, but trust me, what may seem dorky and stupid to you might seem great in other peoples eyes. As for people making fun of you, you should just ignore it. If you show people it doesn't bother you, then people wont bother to make fun of it. best of luck.

Do what I do. Everytime when someone tries to bring me down, i'm just being awesome instead. Just do whatever you want and be proud of it.

ROFLMAO

What should you do? You should grow the hell up. If you're going to treat College like Junior High / High School where your social status is of paramount importance, then you're already in for a rough time. If you have friends who will insult you for what you're doing with your channel on the side, you need to check the definition of the word friend.
