Hey guys! I record with dxtory (720p, 30fps, x264 codec), but im not to familiar with what type of stress recording puts on a PC.
My setup is:
i7 3770k stock clocked
gtx titan
16gb corsair vengeance

Should i be concerned about anything?

No buddy, If you do see any drastic drops in fps, it is probably a fraps problem, although this fix is not ideal, try recording in 60fps, then fraps will allow your game to run smoother, and then upload to youtube in either NTSC 29.97 or just 3o FPS!!

What exactly are you recording? If I recall correctly the x264 is pretty intensive, but then again I have a i5-2500k and a 7950 and it runs really well..your pc should more than be able to handle it :s

You should be fine, any problems you have will be human error or computer glitching.

Make sure you put the M'Jig, into the doodle flop to make the Grumbigulator flow... (Technical Jargon)

What would you say is the best codec?

Ignore any negative comments about your PC not being to record things, the I7 is a Hyper Threaded processor so in total it has 8 cores, this is plenty to play any modern game including games such as Crysis 3, Battlefield 3 and Metro Last Night with almost maxed out settings and record at 60FPS with no drop in quality, the only thing that might cause you to have some gameplay concerns is your hard drive, yes hard drive, SSD is perfect for live recording, if you don't have one and have no issues when recording you don't need to worry, but if you sometimes see a slow down of the game to very low FPS chances are it is the hard drive transfer speed not being able to keep up with the amount of files you are actually writing to the hard drive considering that uncompressed video takes up loads of space. So to sum it up you will do just fine recording anything with that set up.

P.S. I have an I5-3570k and I record battlefield 3 on Ultra at 60FPS at 1080P with no problems during game play, same goes for Crysis 3, your processor will do even better

I don't think anyone actually told him that :p[DOUBLEPOST=1371288659,1371288608][/DOUBLEPOST]

Depends, What do you record to? You can have all the good gear in the world, but if you have a really slow HD you are recording to, that's going to be a bottleneck!
As for codecs, I use Lagarith when I record with dxtory

In your original post you kinda seemed like you did
What would you say is the best codec?
Also why not use Fraps, is Dxtory better than Fraps?
