I need voice-over help.

Ok, so here's a basic rundown; I have always liked the idea of doing youtube as a hobby. In the past, I've done a couple of videos, experimenting with what I want to do for it. At the moment, I think the thing that I would enjoy doing the most is Top 10s/reviews/edited LPs etc. Incredibly common, I know, but it's what i would enjoy the most, and I don't have the desire to do it as a job, just for fun.

I have the equipment idea set out: I have Adobe Photoshop CC (because I made YT thumbnails for people) and Adobe Premiere Pro CC (Saved up for it so i ca npay it each month; love the editing styles of other Youtubers like Jontron and PBG, so that was something I wanted to learn how to do). I can also save up for things, like an original DS capture card, and a Blue snowball microphone. I know what to do, but I have a major issue.

I'm 15 and from the chavvier part of England; I absolutely hate the accent I have, along with how monotone my voice is. The Essex accent is known to be incredibly annoying, especially if you ahve watched The Only Way Is Essex. Because of this, I try to talk as best I can when it comes to pronounciation, like making sure I say the letter T, instead of slurring letters. But, like I said, my accent and voice are incredibly monotone.

I want to enjoy doing making the videos, but I feel like I'll get tons of dislikes because of how annoying my voice is, and I get easily discouraged. I feel like I'll be trying my best to entertain people, but I won't because my voice will annoy people and they'll turn it off. Is there anything I can do to make myself sound less annoying/monotone? I won'tlike using a voice changer, but is there anything else i can do? Thanks

Ignore trying to "improve" your accent. It's not gonna work, especially if you just sounds like you're accenting Ts to make it significant and such.
What you DO need to work on is to make your voice less monotone.

Just try to be more energetic? I know it sounds like terrible advice, but people aren't gonna listen to you if you don't sound excited to be making the video!
PUMP IT UP! WOOT WOOT!

I believe in you.

People don't just talk into a microphone and its suddenly good, you do learn through experience how to make your voice more pleasant to listen to.
I myself learnt how to act before I went into voice over from local drama groups. I then learnt news reading from a local radio station.

You need to punctuate, energize your voice. Analyze other peoples vids. There is a reason why PewDiePie is so eccentric during his videos. :)

If you are looking for tips and tricks on voice over, try the Voice Acting Alliance in their tutorials section. This applies to Let's players and voice actors/ voice over artists. :)

Also "I feel like I will get loads of dislikes". You feel like that will happen. You never know until you try!

The only way your going to know if you will get dislikes is to put videos up. Depending on your target audiance it may actually help you. Alot of young girls are obsessed with TOWIE.

You could come at it from a different angle, I have a strong geordie accent so I just use an actress for my videos.

I agree, it takes practice. I do voice over videos and sales letters. One thing I learned is to be over the top. If i"m just talking like I usually do. I sound pretty monotone as well. I was taught to actually stand up while I record. It works. You have more energy and it expels into your video. Just start doing it and you will get better.

Trust me, it IS practice. in my first video I sounded so dull and a single bit of energy in my video, now 2 years on and I'm pretty happy with them. :)

I dunno man, I'm from Essex, and I don't have the stereotypical accent associated with that absolutely s**t television show, and I've lived here my entire life. 19 by the by.

I'll move this to the technique forum. :)

You've had some great advice from everyone. Something I do before recording is some physical activity - outside is best to get your blood flowing and the fresh air to wake you up and feeling energized. Don't record if you're tired / sleepy. Don't read from a script. Good luck :)
