I need some help with Sony Vegas 12...

I've Got It
I uploaded an hour long video to sony vegas but the video track comes up green with the audio being perfectly fine. this has never happened before so idk what to do. its gaming footage from yesterday. I recorded a very short clip of a games home screen right now to see if it was the program and it isn't because that clip worked normal. video showed and the audio. I used shadow play from NVIDIA for both recordings. can anyone help me out here? I really don't want to go through the same levels for an hour again. plus idk if the person I recorded with will want to either...

That sounds like a variable frame rate issue, especially since it plays fine in WMP. Whatever program you use, try to lock it's frame rate to 30FPS.
 
so can I use the footage at all do u think?[DOUBLEPOST=1411485759,1411440709][/DOUBLEPOST]I tried converting the file into .wmv instead of .mp4 to see if that makes a difference but it didn't. now when I click to open the .wmv file I get the blue loading circle and vegas doesn't respond anymore.
 
I have had this happen to me a few times so I know what to do, but its going to take you a while,.....Ok first thing you do is put your video in Windows Movie Maker and then click save movie choose either the Recommended For This Projesct Template or The HD 1080p Template either one should work after it has rendered out of Windows Movie Maker it should be fine once you upload it onto the Sony Vegas Pro 12 timeline.

Another quick tip when you are rendering a video out of Vegas Pro 12 if you want to keep the file size low choose the render template
"Windows Media Video V11(*.wmv)" then go down to the one that has "6 Mbps HD 720-30p Video"

i have a video on my channel that fix's this here is the steps

1.click start
2.click on my computer
3.click on local C disk or whatever yours is
4.(this is based on the version of vegas you have installed 64bit or 32bit) click on program files if on 64bit and click on program files 86 if on 32bit
5.search for sony vegas folder and click it
6.click on FileIO Plug-Ins
7.look for compoundplug and rename it to like compoundplugbak
make sure vegas is closed and open it and try and import the video

if that dont work let me know[DOUBLEPOST=1411634774,1411634647][/DOUBLEPOST]this happens cause i take it as its some form of MPEG video your doing, cause thats what the codec/plugin fails at times to read right any lag or frame skip in the video and this compoundplug do not mix so :)
