I Can't Get Past 150 Subscribers....

Its all about promotion. You need to hit the streets. I hand out flyers at the local buy and go by me and even though people instantly throw the flyers on the ground when I give them they at least blow into the parking lot with the possibility of hitting a hollywood director's windshield as a sign.

When I stopped caring about my numbers my channel started growing... In the beginning I would hold a giveaway on my blog and have people earn extra entries by subbing my channel. I use viral sweep because it's free and has that option. Then I advertise my giveaways on all of my social media outlets, and a few giveaway sites. I have gained quite a few subs this way and retained them!

I'm sorry you're having problems. I was stuck around that number for a long while as well.

Checking out your channel, the first thing I went to look for was your tags. They're very generic and not searchable due to the high competition. Check out the thread: HOW TO: Get More Views by Targeting 'Long Tail'/Compound Keywords for Tags. Another helpful resource is 'Video Creators' on Youtube. It's a great channel that has a TON of helpful advice for us YTbers :) Hopefully that'll help you. Best of luck!

THIS WAS SUCH GOOD ADVICE! I checked out the thread used the techniques on my last video and they reeeeeeally helped like right away! Thanks so much!

2 questions to ask: 1) how long have you been doing YT for?. 2). How long exactly have you been on 150 Subs?? If its a few months then its pretty normal. But if its around a year or more then you may have to look at your content closely and decide what needs change.

Only a few months. I guess I've been a little impatient.

Because you don't have the X factor... And since you do music videos you know exactly what I am on about. Not everyone has it in them to become great. I have been on YouTube for over 2 years and just passed 1.6K subscribers. Hardly the success story. But I don't YouTube for that subscriber count. I do it because I like doing it. Focussing on the numbers only serves one purpose: Put you down.

Forget about it. Notice it, but never mention it unless it is something you want to highlight in a POSITIVE manner. Turn it around. Instead of thinking "only 150 and stuck" imagine those 150 people in front of you RIGHT NOW! That is a lot of people. Now go forth, forget about the silly numbers and create!

You make some VERY good points. I guess the reason I want more subscribers is that I want my channel to be interactive. I want to talk to people about music, not just have a one-sided conversation via video!

I don't think people get how long it takes to get actual growth, i mean 5-7 years ago this could be considered a concern but now a days there's a billion vlogers a trillion gamers, a thousand cooking shows and getting seen within that amount is like picking a needle in a haystack and it will take YEARS before you actually see growth and interaction.

It takes years to think of a good username. I underwent so many rebrandings it wasn't funny at all. There's very few good names out there, so that decreases the chances. :/

I took a quick look at your channel and a few of your videos. And I see the biggest reason why you haven't grown past 150 is branding and SEO.

I saw your videos don't have an intro telling whoever finds your video to subscribe to your channel. And the channel banner doesn't "pop" to capture a viewers attention nor the Thumbnails. I suggest using the Artist you are reviewing as part of the Thumbnail to grab the viewer who is searching for that type of video.

Another thing is by looking at the tags and description of your video about the review for Justin Bieber's newest song. You oversatured the keywords Justin Bieber what do you mean which makes the video lose rank in searches.

Here's a better example of how to use keywords for Justin Beiber. What Do You Mean?

Not only did he use the song title and Justin Bieber. But also keywords related to music and Justin Bieber instead of the same keywords multiple times.

Another suggestion is to get involved in the niche you are in. And comment on their videos. And not just say "check out my channel", but contribute to the discussion. And make collabs with those type of Youtubers.

That's all I got.
