How would you deal with comments like this?

Yes, that's why using that feature is the best one. They continue wasting their time and energy and they don't realise nobody can see their comments. Out of sight, out of mind.

That's the worst thing you can do IMHO. Way too time consuming. Arguing with people on the internet is such a waste of time lol. It doesn't achieve anything and it's just not feasible once a channel starts growing anyway.

The way I see it is, you have a kid here who clearly is upset/jealous of someone not opening toys. Maybe they come from a family that doesn't have a lot of cash, maybe they come from a broken family in general. In my mind, you can reach out once. Not to fight just to help, if you can make a difference in their life, it will make you feel way better then the time or energy you saved not trying. That's just my humble opinion mind you. There is a very good chance it will blow up in your face.

I usually report these kind of comments and choose the "harrassment/bullying" option. kind of makes me feel like i'm doing something, even though it probably has minimal effect. my hope is that if enough people are reporting these kind of comments, maybe youtube will eventually do something about the user like a suspension.

most of the time I am pretty sure it is a 13 year old writing these. i usually find them a little humorous or maybe ill share them with the wife so we can shake our heads disbelief. but i try not to get too worked up. ive said some foul things myself growing up. kids can be stupid and cruel. its meaningless.

I've had one really bad comment. too ugly to share with the wife and I just deleted it. fortunately those are pretty rare. i suspect the big channels get so many comments they don't really read them. because ive seen some foul comments on their videos. out of sight out of mind.

I've seen a few of those around, and thought Holy Cow! I proactively blocked a few dozen people like that already, prevent them from showing up on our channel.

Delete or ignore them, they only want to bring you down. All you have to do is just block them out of your life and you will be so much more relaxed.

I have seen comments of this nature on some other kids toys channels, usually not 4 in a row on the same video. Obviously those other particular channels didn't filter anything, but I don't think that's wise. I'm assuming it's a kid replying, probably like 10 by the sound of the voice (checked his video on his channel).

So how should I deal with this? Delete & Block use? Reply?

On a separate but related note, I now have at least 70% less comments coming through due to filters. Traffic is still rising across the channel. Do we even need comments? Does anyone here have all comments across the channel disabled? Have you noticed any traffic effect?

I would just block him / delete his comments because they're useless :/

We get so many negative comments everyday and yes in the beginning it was very hurtful as a mom to read about since it's about my son and he's just a kid. We tried to block the most we can but its so hard to keep up so now we just ignore it. As long as you and your kids are having fun making videos that's all it matter! :)
Great advice! so far we manage to block, but if we grow I can see how it will become a time sucker!
BTW, welcome back to the forum, and a huge congratulations on the twins! My sister had twins a few months ago, and it's awesome seeing them grow together.

Yeah, delete and block. There are lots of trolls out there. I have a video in which I have a story (award-winning short film) about an angel. I can't even begin to tell you how many warped comments I get on that one. I let them go because I think interaction between people on the channel is great. The one exception is, if there is someone bullying someone or someone just screwing hate. Then I ban them.

Block and delete as your videos are targeted at children who get enjoyment from seeing kids play with toys and having fun. You don't need negative comments from trolls showing up that kids might read.

On a positive note, my 2 year old loves your channel so much when he wants to watch videos on YouTube he says "I want to watch Ryan". It has given us many hours of peace when most needed.
