How would you deal with comments like this?

Honestly, I would delete the comments but at the same time reach out to the person. There must be a reason they are so angry. Chances are they will continue to be angry and you can leave it at that. But there is also a small chance something you say will resonate them and you will create a diehard fan, who feels they have someone they can talk to.

That's good advice too, Chottom mentioned as well they may reach out if the comment is not over the top.

We have found it best not to try to engage with folks like this. We just use the "hide all comments" feature and let them go on their way. They won't know they've been blocked.

After you've been doing this for a while you are going to amass a ton of toys. Find a shelter, preschool or charity in your area that you can donate them to. It will make them happy and you happy. It's a win-win

If it was my channel we were talking about, then those comments are par for the course. But if I was running a positive kids channel like yours, I'm not sure how I'd handle it. I've never liked any form of censorship, but I understand the need to have a clean environment.

I guess I'd still confront them. I dislike how people think they can just post whatever they want without any regard for the person they are saying it to. I'd reply back and hold them accountable for their words. I'd ignore the part they said about my channel and focus on the way they are behaving. I'd pretty much send the message that if you're going to be rude to me on my channel, you're not going to get off easy. I wouldn't be rude, but I'd cut them off at every comment with a response until they either go away or change their behavior. It may create a negative environment, but it also may be encouraging to see rude people actually called out in a mature, assertive way for once. Then again, I'd probably run your channel into the ground without trying to if I was in charge.

He/she does sound like a kid. If the comments are approved, your supporters might go at him which isn't the best outcome either. Best not to accept it this time.

That's exactly the thing - on some channels it's ok, even encouraged. I have not looked at any Hilary vs Trump channels, but I can imagine.
Same as the real world - in a pub you can swear your head off, in a childcare center that's not a good idea. I just block them I don;t want to engage parents. If I tell him off, then his momma sees it, then the hollering starts. I need to focus on the channel, not waste time with %^$%$#. Problem is there's 2-5 comments like this every day, so it will waste lots of time.

That's a good idea about the toys - we get a lot of stuff from the Salvos (which I like as the money goes to support homeless people in the city), so we'll be dropping toys back into their donations bins once done[DOUBLEPOST=1471577339][/DOUBLEPOST]

I have zero tolerance, so from now on I block and report as spam/abuse if it is abusive, otherwise hide all.

If you are truly into to building your channel, don't waste time on the negative comments. Click the delete and report button and don't let them bring you down. You are creating something and that is really hard! Most people just sit around and talk about creating stuff and how good they will be, but never do anything. Look at the example of a US olympic gymnast that is getting criticized for her performance not being good enough. 99% of the people criticizing her cannot even get off the couch!

Don't let it get you down. The world is full of people like this. Every time we get one, it is delete and report and move on! Best of luck with your channel!

That's the worst thing you can do IMHO. Way too time consuming. Arguing with people on the internet is such a waste of time lol. It doesn't achieve anything and it's just not feasible once a channel starts growing anyway.

Yep, there's so much to do already, I can't see myself engaging with haters every day and trying to make them see the light of day. Not my job nor interest.

Delete and block for sure! Moderating your comments for negativity is a great idea because people will generally have the "mob mentality" and be negative towards a video just because other people are.
