How to stop looking at the view count?

I really hate this bad habit. I always check view count and sub count every time. What I had to do was log off for the week and only log back on, when I need to upload a video. While in the process, then I will check everything.

I can go one more. I actually have an excel file at my job labeled YT and every day i updated it. I update the videos as new ones come out and as put the new few number next to them and have a + view count column as well. Its sad.

Oh man it is a common habit! I usually upload than promote a little than leave it at that. Afterwards come check on it every few hours. It gets easier after awhile. Somedays I don't look at the views till the next morning!

I always have it happen when I upload a new video haha. After a little while I just stop and start focusing on what else needs to be done on the channel!

Do you guys experience that too when you uploaded a video that you always want to see if the video got more views already? It looks like an addiction, in the beginning I had it always a lot, now I force myself to not watch at the view count after I promoted it.

Does anyone experience this too? And how do you handle it?

Keep it up, PEACE!

Start aiming at interaction instead of counts. Connect here and everywhere and you'll feel allot more at ease.

Usually, I do my best to avoid monitoring it all that much. I'm at a point where I know what my subs want to see on my channel. So if I upload something else for fun I'm well aware it won't do too good in terms of views. I still upload it though because it's overall fun and you do get a little response here and there.

Oh god damn. LOL. Maybe try keeping yourself busy by creating new ideas for a list of videos. Then check your page weekly for view & sub counts.

Logging off is a good strategy, but maybe not in the long run[DOUBLEPOST=1472637930,1472637890][/DOUBLEPOST]

I really like that mindset

Okay I want in on this one!

So this "dirty" habit I can relate to in few aspects of my life, especially when I was younger, different computer games, sports, etc.. To day I don't have this habit as much, BUT however I can fall into it on YouTube. Youtube is tho a great place IMO to get rid of having this mindset and i'll tell you my thoughts on it and how I combat this.

What has really helped me along my journey on YouTube is to know that uploading videos is like making a snowball. It's really small in the beginning, nobody sees it. But if you've been pushing the snowball regularly soon enough people start to notice, its visible!
What i'm trying to say here, is that nobody is going to watch your videos in the beginning, except maybe a few... :-) But whats cool about youtube is that the videos you create THEY STAY THERE FOR PEOPLE TO COME BACK AND WATCH WHEN EVER. The videos live, say that you've been doing videos on a regular basis for 5 years (lets say 2021), people can go back to your first videos that you create TO DAY (2016) and watch them and be like, nice, this video helped me, made me laugh, or whatever you're doing.

SO bottom line, if you're making fun videos that are interesting or specially if you're sharing knowledge IMO, you're videos will live, THEY BUILD ON EACH OTHER.

So just keep making those videos, know that we all suck in the beginning, but if you keep at it, and keep learning, your snowball will be HUGE one day :-)

I haven't been making videos for a long time, still when I look back at my first I'm like "whaat... why did I do it like this?" I KNOW WHY, because I DID NOT KNOW ANY BETTER YET, with time comes better skill set! :D

Anyways, I hope this makes any sense haha :-) It does for me at least, did it make any sense for you?

I'm out, hugs to all my brothers and sisters,
Eaglewolf Magic!
