as much as it seems this would work, I don't think it does.
I watch a popular tuber by the name of PIMPNITE, does pokemon wifi battles, and has a system where he will try to make a working battling team out of commenters' suggestions. He states that he picks the highest liked comments each time.
I suggested a team, got 250+ likes and plenty of comments and he did the team in a video. He then also decided to shoutout the team suggestors' channels starting with mine, which was a lovely gesture
My subs diddn't get a boost or views or anything like that, so even with all of that help from a 200,000 + sub base guy, with videos on the same topic as mine, probably very very few, or no-one checked out my channel.
getting top comments is fun, and its great to get replies and start conversations with people, but in my opinions it's definitely not going to work as some way of getting subs.
That is because just one top comment of 250 likes isn't very much, so it will hardly give a noticeable effect.
Check out Thesheepthatwentmooo's google + profile. That is how top commenting is done ruthlessly and effectively. On this forum we have at least 2-3 people also top commenting, me being one of them. Sadly you won't get much out of my google + profile because I rarely share my comments on google +.
