How to make a decent game review

Hi i am trying to bend the wooden strips so as to make a rosette.I have the same strips as the ones shown in the photo but every time i am trying to make a circle they brakei tried heat them on the bending iron too but the same thing happensthe circle is 3 cm i think.....how is this done?? i attach a file that shows the ring i want to build...please help me
