How to keep your subs active?

So I have 224 subscribers, (i <3 them all) but only about 50 of them are active? Does anyone know how to keep them active?

Best thing I can think of being active with your subscribers. Like replying to all there comments and maybe talking about them in your videos. Best of all keep pumping out good content.

Everytime my subs start to lose interest, I bring them back with a big video. It's funny when you make a big video with a great title, and you see all of your subs come out of retirement to watch and comment on your videos.

Upload frequently and make videos that are unique and that you would want to watch yourself. Also, follow a certain theme. Most of my viewers want to see me make videos about a game called 7 days to die, so I try to make as many videos of that games or games that are relateable to it. I also don't just put out simple let' plays. I have a let's play serie in which my goal is to build a bad a** base. Between every episode I progress a little on the base, so when I release a new episode my viewers knows that the video will have something new and exciting.

I think some subs just watch and that's it. If you look at the numbers of the really big channels their comments aren't equal to their sub count. Someone with 1 million subscribers will get 2000-5000 comments...maybe 10k-50k likes. Not all 1 million are active at all.
