How To Effectively Reply To Trolls!

So, I was blessed to get my first "hater" comment on our videos early this week. The way I chose to respond had a lot of people reaching out to me via email or through the channel in regards to how well it went. The comment is as noted below:

"Your videos are trash. You have a brown teacher who cant pronounce a brown dudes name. Guys are trying too hard to be funny and its wack. step your game up"

I replied with this:

"Thanks for taking the time to watch the video. The whole journey behind a new channel is the ability to discover what works and what doesn't. We appreciate your feedback and definitely see how we can come back with better material in the future. Thanks again!"

The reason I say I was blessed is until now, I haven't received a full forced negative comment on any of my videos. The fact that I replied with such professionalism had a lot of people pleasantly surprised (and perhaps had him think twice about who he's talking to)! So maybe next time you have a rough comment, as the saying goes, kill them with kindness!
 
I think that's the best way to deal with trolls.
Stay polite even if it is hard sometimes.
 
Normally I'd say don't respond, but in this case it's hard to tell whether this is your standard troll who just wants to put you down or someone who wants to stick around and see you improve. But even if it's the latter, he could've worded it a lot more politely, so I guess personally I wouldn't have replied to that. Anyway, I think you did a good job with your reply! :thumbsup2:
 
I generally don't respond to people who are that rude in giving 'feedback'. And people who are downright trolling or insulting just get deleted or even banned from the channel.

Definitely the best way to deal with the trolls, I feel it helps when you give them a response which makes there comment mean a lot less than what they were attempting it to be.

It seems to work with all the trolls, not just the YouTube ones.
 
Ah, the allpowerfull kill them with kindness approach. I have done that! One guy trashtalked my mustang, and his name was subaru2002 or something like that. So I said I wasn't going to hate on him, because 2002 wrx's where awesome. Never heard anything from him again. Others I have ignored, or even fed. It depends on my mood really.
