How to deal with dead subscribers?

Thanks guys! I actually became more active last week and this week! Decided I upload atleast every monday, wednesday and friday and if I can upload more, I'll do it! I'll just start fresh and don't worry at the number of subscribers at all!

I certainly wouldn't start over. Every channel has dead subs..it may seem more extreme for smaller channels but it's common. I'd focus more on building more active ones to balance things. I usually do this by interacting with users from other channels like mine that are active. Not necessarily by saying "hey check out my channel" but by acting like any other user commenting. You'll be surprised at how may people will check out your channel just by replying to their comment. Although 2000 subs and 50 views seems bad from where we sit as creators...is 20 subs and 50 views better? Maybe in our eyes because we analyze every aspect of our channel..but from the average user standpoint they don't really look that deeply at it. They'd probably be more apt to sub you just because you have 2000 subs. To me social media is like high school. People tend to gravitate towards what is or seems popular. Maybe that can snowball for you while you are building more active subs...and maybe once the inactive ones see some activity, they'll jump on board and become active. Good luck

I started this channel about a month ago and I believe I've made some good progress. My first few videos did pretty well and I had a lot of interaction with my viewers. Recently however, my small following stopped commenting and liking my videos. Why?

It just happens... It's really weird, its usually because usually people find smaller channels when they have finished watching their other larger channels and as soon as a new video comes out there they return. That is unless you keep their interest which is really hard to do, usually social media accounts help

I had a problem a couple months, YouTube wasn't notfiieng my subscribers when I Uploaded a new video each week. That also happened to bigger YouTubers. I'm not sure if that's your case but it could be.

Its realy your choice u could start where u at and begin there just forget about the 2000 subs and keep your head up gain new ones or start from new which is ......

If you turn your channel into a paid channel, it will remove all subscribers who are a free subscriber. So if you turn this feature on and off then it's like a big reset

I've had something similar happen to me, while I did t go inactive , my problem was my most popular aspect (Disney infinity) was cancelled , so I lost the majority of my subscribers views.

I basically had to start again about a year ago, throw in youtube algothrim change, trying out a few different styles etc and that's left my views to subscriber ratio looking bad, however I believe I saw Tim from Video Creators say you should expect 5 to 10% of subscribers to views.

Youtube has changed and most people seem to be getting less views all round
