How to activate wall Ethernet?

Hey guys, does anyone know how to activate a wall Ethernet port? I have a modem and have attached it to a wall port, I then went into my closet where my cable cabinet is and I don't know what plugs to plug or where to plug those plugs. Can anyone help?
