How The Heck Do You Promote In Reddit?!

I keep seeing forums where people get tons of views thanks to this site. Heck even in that YouTube boot-camp they recommend this site.

However, I can't even get 5 views from this site.

I mean I know that you are supposed to post the video in a subreddit that relates to your video the most (make a video about french fries post it that subreddit). However, that still does not work for me since my video usually comes across as either spam or people just don't pay attention to it (I get 0 upvotes/downvotes).

So is Reddit more of a 50/50 chance? You either get views or you don't?
 
You need to engage in the community and not just go there for self promotion. Furthermore obey to the rules of the subreddit. Some of them don't allow posting your own content at all.
After all Reddit is just brutally honest. If your video is not the best of the best with honours sir it will not make it's way up.

But I have been engaging it. I've been a part of Reddit for over 8 months now and have garnished over 8,000 in link karma. Are you telling me that still isn't enough?

True but now that I think about it you maybe right when it comes to engaging the community.
However, my link karma maybe high but my comment karma is terrible.
So responding to other posts in the subreddit should increase my chances?

I don't exactly know how it works either I tried to send a few videos in too in the right subreddits and basically got the 0up/down thing too but a few people back then actually submitted a few of my videos and that's when it started to get some views so go figure.
 
Yeah Reddit is kind of tricky you def have to mess around and find what works for you kind of videos on there. Just might take time to find where to go on there.
