How the heck do they do it?!

How do public pranksters hide the camera from their victims? Especially if you have a high quality, high-depth camera that's HUGE. You can't just hide that. Even if you have a telephoto lens to film from far away. 1. When you're far enough the people you're filming are tiny. In pranks I watch on youtube the people are so close. 2. The camera is so shake when you zoom all the way in on telephoto. Do you use a tripod?

I guess they must using tripod, and they might not be filming too far away, they must be using good quality ZOOM cameras I guess

Yeah they use a tripod but the cameraman is a bit away and obviously the star of the prank has hidden mics on him/her to pick up the conversation. The person who is doing the pranks tries to keep the victim(s) focused on him/her which usually has them turned away from the cameraman.

I was thinking that if you're doing something crazy to someone they won't be looking around for cameras. Unless it's too crazy.[DOUBLEPOST=1423625180,1423625139][/DOUBLEPOST]
I rarely trust "prank" videos. Far too many turned out to be staged.
I was beginning to think this after doing research. More specifically the bigger youtubers so they don't get shot or jumped or whatevs.

they could used a gopro with a gorillapod so they can mount it to say a tree branch or a park bench but this doesn't provide good zoom... haha I have no idea!
