How many takes do you do?

Since I'm a gamer ill usually do 2-3 takes of a video before I find perfection. But other times where I don't have a backup save handy I can't. Just curious how many takes do you guys do before you find perfection?

This all depends on the vlog for me. Many videos of mine are unscripted and completely random, those are just one takes. Like in "Cut that OUT" I literally had the idea for the video loosely, grabbed my camera, and a minute later was filming, then I just thought of ideas as I was filming and everything was one take, probably 20 minutes from conception to creation. But then I have other videos like "Naughty Bits" where I had to do quite a few takes because there was more of a theme, and a goal. And for my music videos when I'm dancing I always do about 3 takes, then splice together the good parts from each one.
 
As an animator I try to do it as many takes I can. But sometimes I'm lazy so I just make about 2 takes.
 
Generally it takes 3 takes when I get stuck on a sentence. First one is barely audible and mostly gibberish. Second one is more coherent and the third time's the charm.

Yeah if it's just a random video I don't think you'd need more than 1 take. If you make a mistake it's kind of part of the randomness lol.

that is SO true. So many of my vlogs, started off with an idea, then TOTALLY deviate from that idea, become something completely different, and BAM. That was how the yoyo video was, I planned on actually using the yoyo well, talking about how I'm gonna be a yo yo master, like, being bad with a yo yo wasn't part of the joke. But wouldn't you know it the damn thing went down and then wouldn't come back up, so I just kinda went with it, and that became the funniest part of that whole vlog. I also was legit shocked when the yoyo hit the ceiling, I was just trying to go "bring it up!" And have it lightly jump a little in the air, when the damn thing hit the ceiling I went "oh s**t!" Which is a word I try to NEVER say on my channel. LOL
 
I'm a gamer. I try my hardest to get it done in one take. My most recent video though for example took four takes because I kept f*****g up the beginning. I try to do it in one though because I like the commentary to flow and not too rehearsed.
