How long until thumbnail updates?

I added a new thumbnail to my latest video yesterday, because the one I have suck.
But how long am I supposed to wait before it updates?

And sometimes I've felt that they wouldn't update at all, no matter how long it took. Any help? :S
 
I have the same problem, I think I heard that it updates every 36 hours? Youtube sucks in that respect...although I guess Youtube has a ton of other problems as well.

i'm not even sure if they have a time because for me it could update within 5 minutes - 8 hours so it's pretty random
 
Its all to do with your browser cache. I've updated mine before and it does't look like it has changed but if I use a different browser or device it displayed the new thumbnail.
 
I usually have my thumbnail made right when I am uploading it and it always updates to the new one on the spot! Maybe try this? Also remember your browser downloads the old thumbnails and caches them to load the page faster whenever you revisit it, just clear your browsing data and it should work.

That's not the case :p
I made a thumbnail that was ready for uploading while I was uploading the video, but I wanted to change it again today.

I can see the new thumbnail on YTTalk at least after I cleared my cache.
 
Oh okay, Yeah.. I don't have much experience with that happening, but atleast if you can now see the thumbnail, more then likely others can too!
