How long do you take??

I Love YTtalk
In average...from recording the video to having it live on Youtube...everything in between included...

I take quite a while, bacause of setup (costume, lights, makeup, pc setup, etc), recording, facecam processing, game playprocessing, montage, uploading...annotations, etc. I have a SLOW pc for video processing stuff...

All in all, for a 40 minute video about, 8 hours!

for my 9 minute short film:
filming: 8-10 hours
editing: 10 hours

it was a rough time, but I think it was worth it!

Average live commentary (most of my content)
Recording: 10-25 minutes depending on the game
Exporting: 10-45 minutes depending on game
Editing: 30 minutes
Rendering: 60 minutes
Upload: 60-120 minutes (bad internet lol)

Average music video

1 hour of editing/rendering
1 hour of uploading (slow internet)

so.. not really much, but my internet sucks so bad I get frustrated.

All depends really. Usually I spend two days per video, five hours a day. But sometimes more, sometimes less. Of course, practicing singing Japanese lyrics takes a bit of extra prep work, otherwise I have a much stronger Canadian accent. :P

Preproduction: Depends WILDLY. Mostly because when I have writer's block, I get it for weeks. It's incredibly irritating and I've never found a remedy for it. Showering kinda helps me get creative.
Production: I'd say 1-2 hours. I don't use too many props. And my videos are short.
Postproduction: 2 hours. It would be shorter than that, but my editor is kinda slow at...everything. I let my videos render while I'm asleep and turn auto-shutdown on.

For gaming videos, an hour of gameplay to make 3-4 episodes, and then a half hour of editing crap out for each episode. I stopped using facecam, as everyone hates it for whatever reason. But even with facecam, it took me the same length of time.

Cool, I see it varies. The nature of the video seems to have an impact on the time. I also let the rendering go on overnight (although I do 2 per video).

Writers block is, I guess, the hardest one to control. I improvise so I don't have that problem...yet.
