So... people say "You should comment on other videos to get your channel noticed" Ok cool. But like... should it always be nice comments? Should you just speak your mind? Can you hurt your reputation by commenting? Should you privatize your comments so that your subs don't see them every time you comment? Should you do it strategically? Should you do it all willy nilly like you just dgaf? I get nervous about speaking my mind on videos. Usually I feel compelled to when I see a large group of people doing really dumb crap together like a dumb crap accomplishing team. I then think of something funny or obnoxious to say (for example when people all say the same thing about a video that shows none of them actually watched it but made a common assumption from the title)
Is that bad for a youtuber? Is it good? Should I be like WHATEVSSSSSS Or should I be careful how I represent myself. This dude with a face wants to know.
More feedback! AWWWW YEAAAAH Thanks Cat!I usually put something positive, and short/to the point. Also, commenting on videos that I feel really passionate about like videos of animal abuse do tend to get a lot of likes/top comments, however, it does attract the trolls who wanna call me a hippie haha
No meh comments here. You say BLEH to MEH[DOUBLEPOST=1387298950,1387295123][/DOUBLEPOST]I comment only if something is really really good or really really bad .
Yeah I would only be constructive with the content creator unless I found what they were doing plagiaristic or offensive. It's the other people in the comments section fighting over this and that that usually irk me until I wanna say something.Well...personally I go with treating comments like I would like to be commented like, if that makes sense? I will comment on the videos I liked which is always the case because it is usually but someone I am subscrubed to. But if I do not like a video I saw then I will keep it to myself and jsut move onto something else. Just because it isn't something i like dosn;t mean anyone else will, so I let them give the posotive comments it deservs. Because someone has gone to a lot of effort to make that video! and been brave enough to show it to the rest of the world! which deserves recognising.
I think very similar thoughts to this.[DOUBLEPOST=1387299621,1387299544][/DOUBLEPOST]I don't have time to watch many other videos to comment on them! Ack!
Sometimes I wonder if I comment on videos related to my videos if that will be seen as marketing spam.
Sometimes I wonder how much commenting would help though. I mean, I see people commenting on other videos and I never click on their names to see if they have any videos that might interest me. I think they are just people commenting.
Ooooo hehehehehehehe Yeah I might privatise them, I'm planning on commenting really frequently I don't wanna bombard everyone.Commenting on wrestling videos and such is so much different than commenting on some homemade videos and stuff like that. With a wrestling video, you can criticize or praise the wrestlers in the video, and then start a discussion from that. Another thing is that the IWC is a whole different breed of human. We get ticked off by the smallest thing, and we don't stop arguing amongst each other until something drastic happens. When I'm the most normal person in a fandom, you know something is wrong.
That said, when it comes to homemade videos, you could still give a critique of what you watched, but you should really be careful and be sure not to upset anybody. Of course, I know you could never be that harsh, but still. Think of every video like a PewDiePie video. If you say one wrong word, they'll come over to your house and turn off your AC/Heater (depending on the temperature at the moment), and make damn sure you can't turn it back on.
And also yes I privatized my comments on my old channel, so that my many 25 subs didn't see what I was doing. I was leading teh double lifes. ^.^ LOL
