Out of curiosity, many people would love to do what you are doing (quit their jobs and travel the world) but simply can't afford to. Did you save up or do you somehow have some other disposable income that affords you the opportunity to not only travel the world, but seemingly do it in style? Thanks. Congrats on 100 subs so quickly too.

Thanks a lot for the congrats! I actually did a writeup which goes into detail about how we came to this point, you can check that out here if you're interested.

The short answer is yes we saved up around $10,000 over the last 4 months of living in San Francisco. This meant dialing back on A LOT of things. The goal though is not to touch that money, and we haven't yet. I spend around 1-3 hours per day on contract work doing things like UI design, web development, blogging and marketing.

I'm certainly lucky that I have a skill set that allows me to work from anywhere, but I know others who've made similar lifestyles work with different skill sets. Here are some great stories:

Ah, I was under the mistaken impression that you both stopped working, which led to my question. I didn't realize that you did freelance work. That makes more sense.

Good luck! This seems like a surefire Youtube success story, just keep churning out videos and networking. You guys seem likable and that goes a long way.

Yeah we did quit out jobs, but definitely still trying to make money as we travel :) Thanks a ton for the words of encouragement, really appreciate the positivity!
 
Well done on hitting your first 100 so soon! I started doing that a few months ago - I was mainly looking for new people to follow, plus I know how exciting it is to get comments on my own work and I wanted to pass on that great little feeling to other people who deserved it. c:

It's definitely worked - I'm glad it's working out for you guys, too!
